This course develops the knowledge and procedural understanding required to support the safe planning, supervision and control of demolition range activity within approved HMA training or operational environments.

This course is suitable for qualified IMAS EOD Level 3 personnel, demolition supervisors, training staff, technical field managers and organisations responsible for conducting or supervising practical demolition activity.

• Role and responsibilities of the demolition range safety supervisor.
• Range planning, layout and control.
• Danger areas and safety distances.
• Explosives control, issue, use and accounting.
• Personnel control, briefings and sentry duties.
• Command post and firing point procedures.
• Communications and emergency arrangements.
• Medical support and CASEVAC planning.
• Misfire procedures and incident response.
• Range records, reports and post-activity checks.

Delivery may include pre-course learning, classroom instruction, range planning exercises, practical range setup, safety briefings, supervised demolition activity, scenario-based emergency drills and assessment.

Participants should normally be qualified and authorised EOD personnel, preferably IMAS EOD Level 3 or above, or personnel with recognised demolition supervisory responsibilities. Practical delivery requires approved range facilities, explosives authority, medical support, communications, safety documentation and qualified instructional staff.

On completion, participants should understand the responsibilities and control measures required to supervise safe demolition range activity within approved organisational and national authority procedures.

This course may be delivered with EOD refresher training, demolition techniques, training management support, range SOP development or practical exercise validation.
