This course develops the practical search skills, safety awareness and team procedures required to conduct search operations in support of EOD AND IEDD activity.

Course Overview
Target Audience This course is suitable for EOD personnel required to conduct SEARCH in support of EOD and IED operations within a HMA context.
Overview Search operations provide essential support to IEDD and EOD activity by helping to identify suspect areas, locate threat indicators, manage routes and support safe task progression. This course focuses on systematic search procedures, team discipline, search planning, marking, reporting, safety controls and coordination with IEDD personnel. The course is designed to support practical search capability without implying authority to conduct IEDD disposal actions. Disposal, render-safe procedures and final technical decisions remain the responsibility of authorised IEDD personnel.

How it is delivered
Delivery Format
Delivery may include pre-course learning, classroom instruction, practical demonstrations, inert training aids, search lanes, building or route search scenarios, team exercises and supervised assessment.
Prerequisites
Entry Requirements
Participants should be physically able to conduct field-based training and should meet any client, organisational or national authority requirements. Entry requirements include holding an IMAS EOD 1 or equivalent qualification.
On completion
Expected Outcome
On completion, participants should be able to conduct structured search tasks in support of IEDD operations, within approved procedures and under appropriate supervision.

This course may be delivered as a stand-alone search course or integrated with IEDD operator training, route search, building search, border search, event security or contingency response training.
