Purpose
This course supports national authorities, institutions and partner organisations to develop, review or update National Mine Action Standards in line with national requirements, operational context and recognised international good practice.

This course is suitable for NMAA / NMAC personnel, senior HMA managers, policy staff, quality management personnel, technical advisors, government stakeholders and organisations involved in standards development or review.
What is covered
Course Overview
National Mine Action Standards provide the framework for safe, accountable and consistent HMA activity. This course introduces the purpose, structure and development process for NMAS and supports participants to understand how standards translate national policy, IMAS guidance, operational requirements and quality management principles into usable national direction. The course may include review of existing standards, identification of gaps, drafting priorities and development of a structured standards improvement plan.

How it is delivered
Delivery Format

Prerequisites
Entry Requirements
Participants should have a role linked to national mine action governance, policy, standards, quality management, operations management or technical oversight.
On completion
Expected Outcome
On completion, participants should understand the NMAS development and review process and be able to contribute to the drafting, amendment or improvement of national HMA standards and supporting frameworks.
