This course develops the planning knowledge and practical tools required to support security operations in complex, high-risk or threat-exposed environments.

This course is suitable for security managers, operations planners, project managers, field security personnel, logistics managers, site leads, NGO security staff, commercial security personnel and organisations operating in volatile or high-risk environments.

• High-risk environment planning principles.
• Operating context, threat and vulnerability review and mission, task and movement planning.
• Security coordination, command arrangements, communications, reporting and information flow.
• Route, site, activity risk considerations, personnel accountability and movement control.
• Emergency, casualty and evacuation planning links.
• Coordination with local authorities, partners and stakeholders.
• Practical planning exercises and scenario-based review.

Delivery may include classroom instruction, map exercises, planning workshops, table-top exercises, scenario-based group work, movement-planning tasks, operational brief development and after-action review. Delivery may be provided in-country, by mobile training team, as a residential course or through blended learning where appropriate.

Participants should hold a role connected to security, operations, logistics, project delivery, crisis management or field coordination.

On completion, participants should be able to contribute to operational planning for high-risk environments, identify key planning risks, prepare practical control measures and support safer delivery of organisational activity.

This course may be adapted for commercial field operations, infrastructure projects, movement planning, remote-site operations or high-profile visits.
