This course develops the knowledge and practical understanding required to identify, assess and report security risks, site vulnerabilities and protective security requirements in commercial and industrial infrastructure and high-risk operating environments.

This course is suitable for security managers, site security supervisors, operations managers, facility managers, risk officers, infrastructure protection personnel and organisations responsible for assessing and improving protective security arrangements.

• Security risk assessment principles and site vulnerability and exposure assessment.
• Threat, consequence and likelihood considerations.
• Physical security and access-control review.
• Critical assets, essential functions and dependency mapping.
• Protective security measures and risk-reduction options.
• Incident, disruption and business continuity considerations.
• Reporting, prioritisation, action planning stakeholder coordination and information management.
• Practical site-assessment exercises or table-top review.

Delivery may include classroom instruction, case-study review, site-walk assessments, map or layout-based exercises, group planning tasks, facilitated discussion and reporting tasks.

Participants should hold a role connected to security management, site operations, risk management, infrastructure protection or organisational resilience.

On completion, participants should be able to support structured security risk and vulnerability assessment activity, identify priority protective security concerns, contribute to practical risk-reduction planning and present findings in a clear and usable format.

This course may be adapted for commercial sites, logistics hubs, ports, airports, energy facilities, prisons, critical infrastructure, event venues or high-risk field locations.
